At Book Riot, Anne Mai Yee Jansen has some recommendations for recent cosy Japanese and Korean books to curl up with.
“Whether you call it cozy or healing,” or, as we might in the UK, up lit, “it certainly doesn’t hurt that a surprising number of these books feature books, coffee, and/or cats in interesting ways. I mean, for many readers, those are three elements that embody the warm fuzzies.”
And over at Electric Lit, there are more books with cats as characters.
Advnture rounds up 10 high-altitude classics for armchair adventurers.
“Mountaineering is not a spectator sport and the closest many of us will get to experiencing the great summits of the world is through the best climbing films or by reading a jolly good mountaineering book. But with literally thousands of worthwhile reads, where does one start?”
Over on Modern Mrs Darcy, Leigh Kramer shares a list of 11 baseball books to mark the start of the season.
“In honor of the 2025 season kicking off tomorrow, I wanted to share some of my favorite baseball books. … These are my MVPs, if you will. It seems like more and more baseball books are being published these days. I can’t figure out what’s inspiring this trend but I’m delighted by it and hope it continues for a long time to come.”
Electric Lit has 7 great books about women and food.
Also at Electric Lit, 12 books that centre work and working class lives.
On Lit Hub, 6 immigrant novels that employ unconventional narrative structures.
AudioFile has 3 audiobooks that explore the roles and responsibilities of writers.
More Electric Lit goodness: 7 intense books about messy relationships, 8 graphic novels set in New York City, and 8 powerful memoirs about being mixed race.
