Great little list. I'm definitely interested in books that give me the Wedding People feels! I'd also add You Are Here by David Nicholls. That was one of my favorites of 2024.
Love a hug of a book! A few I’ve read and loved recently have been: Days at the Morisaki Bookshop by Satoshi Yagisawa and The Kamogawa Food Detectives by Hisashi Kashiwai— so so good!
It’s not available in our regional library system. If enough people request a book they will bring it in. Our library spans a huge mostly rural area. Any book within the system can be requested and it gets delivered to our wee branch. Pretty cool, eh?
Ah, great to hear! I hope you enjoy them. You might be able to request Queuing for the Queen, although it’s possible that it wasn’t published in paperback in the US - my online sleuthing is a bit inconclusive!
Thank you for this list! Definitely need some uplifting books as we endure thr current administration here in the US. But I also work on voter registration and education around our elections. I also do garden education through a program connected with our university--there is a lot of material geared toward sustainable gardening and adapting to climate change!

Ah yes, both on my to be read list — I should move them up :)
Looking at your Bookshop.org list I think you’d very much enjoy them.
I felt that way about midnight library!
I plan to read that one day!!
My favorite read of 2024 was Water for Elephants. Not a newer title, but new to me and so heartwarming.
Highly suggest All The Lonely People by Mike Gayle
Yes! I need to read this.
My favorite so far this year was Katherine Center’s “The Rom-Commers.”
Katherine Center can do no wrong!!
Thanks. Plan to read these
I hope you enjoy them!
Thanks for this. I just went to my library and placed holds on your recommendations, except for “Queuing for the Queen.” They don’t have that one.

There’s a great YA book you might enjoy called The Voting Booth by Brandy Colbert. Thank you for your work with this! So needed.
